Fashion giants Zara, Kering and ASOS have all pledged to clean up their practices by 2020 according to a new report published by Women’s Wear Daily (WWD). Kering leads the pack, with some pretty progressive sustainability practices already embedded, the company has ranked pole position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for fashion. Zara and ASOS, however, appeal more to the masses and the churn of their collections do raise concerns about the intensity of production. Both brands tend to have short seasonal cycles on the shop floor.
One thing they do have in common is that they are signed up to the Global Fashion Agenda, a think tank if you will. for the sustainability and the fashion industry.
